SMASH American Session Ale
5 gallon extract
6 lbs Pils LME
1/2 oz Simcoe 13.1% AA (60 min.)
1/2 oz Simcoe 13.1% AA (15 min.)
1 oz Simcoe 13.1% AA (5 min.)
1 oz Simcoe 13.1% AA (dry hop)
WhiteLabs WLP051 California V
Pitched: 3/9/2014 SG 1.044
Secondary: 3/11/2014 SG 1.015 (dry hopped)
Kegged: 3/27/2014 1.013
Notes: I dry-hopped for twice the recommended 5-7 days as we were travelling, and while this makes the beer pretty hop-forward it doesn't seem to have over-bittered it at all. Indeed, it's amazingly drinkable stuff, and remarkably clear. One of the best beers I've made -- definitely a repeat in 2015.
