Fruit Bazooka NE IPA

Recipe from Northern Brewer, ingredients purchased locally

1 lb flaked oats (steeped for 30 min.)

6.6. lbs Pilsen LME
1 lb wheat DME (last 15 minutes)
2 lbs Pilsen light DME (last 15 minutes)

1 oz Azacco (at flameout)
1 oz Ekuanot (at flameout)
1 oz Citra (at flameout)
1 oz Mosaic (at flameout)

1 oz Ekuanot @12.5% AA (1st dry hop, 7/30/2021)
1 oz Mosaic @ 12% AA (1st dry hop, 7/30/2021)

1 oz Ekuanot @12.5% AA (2nd dry hop, 8/4/2021)
1 oz Citra (2nd dry hop, 8/4/2021)

Pitched 7/28/2021 OG 1.064
Secondary 8/13/2021 SG 1.016
Kegged 10/21/2021 SG 1.012

Fresh Hops Brown 2021

 Harvest this year was 11 oz dried.  I decided to use all the hops this year because the hops I saved from the harvest last year are still in the freezer.  This recipe is almost the same as past years.

Malts:

     Munich Malt syrup      6 lbs

     Bries  Sparkling Amber DME 10*      1 lbs

Specialty Grains:

     Briess Chocolate Mslt  8 oz

     Belgian Special B    8 oz

     Briess Victory   8 oz

     English Medium Crystal

Hops;

     60 min  4 oz

     10 min 4 oz

     flame out for 20 minutes   3 oz

Yeast:

     Safale US 05

Extract kit from Northern Brewers

I added the yeast too early in the cool down and killed it.   Because I didn't have a backup yeast packet I added bread yeast.  The final product was very drinkable. and didn't have any off flavors.  The tasting notes in the packet listed toast as a flavor, so maybe that taste, to those who could  sense it, was enhanced.
