Superior head retention, good nutty flavor from melanoidin, but overpowers hops
I just wanted to let you know that I tried the fresh hops beer this weekend and I thought it was really great. It had a fresh hoppy bitterness and was quite refreshing. Initial attack of sharp, almost citric taste yielded quickly to the mellower fuller malt. Total effect was one of bright drinkability and satisfying heft. If I said that there was detectable terroir from the hops, it would be because I knew where they came from, and that their freshness carries with them a transparency of identity, and not just because it sounds good to say so.
